Lunch news: Indusblue & Fatbox help MuchMusic find their next VJ
September 30th, 2009

Much Music solicited the help of Indusblue and Fatbox in their quest to find their next VJ.
Strategically Much Music knew what they were looking for, when they came to Indusblue for design and development of what's likely the biggest contest of the year. Indusblue knew that hosting and delivery would be critical and engaged hosting provider Fatbox to deliver the infrastructure required to make the site function no matter what the traffic.
Indusblue worked closely with Much to develop the approach and launched the site three weeks ago.
Since launch the traffic to the site has been intense. "Much knows their brand and their audience, they knew what they were looking for going in and that focus on their audience made working with them a real partnership. Their understanding of the space, and ability to drive traffic socially is what made this such a great project to be a part of. We can't wait to see the results" said Dayton Pereira, Indusblue's co-founder.
"Over the past weekend of the promotion the site did over 100,000 uniques in two days. Average of 226 connections per second. We expect that by the end of the promotion we'll we looking at Terabytes and Terabytes of data. All of the video elements are actually hosted through YouTube, so we're looking at mostly data transfers" Says Fatbox's founder Evan Borgstrom.
It's been an interesting exercise to see how social media has driven traffic, as the top referrer is facebook rather than referrals from the Much Music site itself.
